Ro Burns, WT. Cosgrave's Great Grandson

Ro Burns (1Z) is a young historian with a significant familial connection. Here he is pictured with  An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, his  great uncle Liam Cosgrave Snr and his father Ronnie Cosgrave.

These photos were taken at James's Street Dublin at the unveiling of a plaque marking the birth place of his great grandfather W.T.Cosgrave.

Here is another PowerPoint presentation from our Second Years. This was created by Aoife Lynch in my class. Hope you all enjoy.

The Age of Exploration/Expansionism

Junior History teachers have been busy last term working with students on the Age of Exploration. We encourage an in depth study of an explorer during this time period. To engage our students we used differentiation by product. Students could produce their research in their preferred learning style. Students found this most enjoyable. Over the next few posts we will be sharing some of their creations.

Using PicCollage to create visual memory aids with Keywords

PicCollage is a a fantastic app that allows you to use images from the web to create a colourful collage. Students in my first year class have been using the app to memorize keywords from a given topic. This creation comes from Maebh Stebbing in 1Y.
